If you are new to the internet and website design you will probably be wondering how the design process works. All website designers work and plan websites differently. Here we will explain how Flamingoat structures and creates websites...
Flamingoat are happy to meet with you or discuss your website over the phone, whether or not you have an idea of exactly what you would like.
At the consultation we will be interested in your ideas and the message you would like to put across. If you have a logo we will incorporate this into the design and base the websites colour theme around this. Don't worry if you don't have a company logo, we also design these too.
We will run through everything we would need from you to complete the website, answer any questions you may have and build a structure for your website (this is important as your quote will be based around this).
You will require a domain name and hosting for your website, we can provide these with full support as well as email accounts.
Before we draw up a quote we will check if your chosen domain name is available and research any other special requirements you may have. Flamingoat will then email your quote based on your website structure and the information you have provided during the consultation.
Once you are ready to go ahead with your website, we draw up an invoice and ask all our clients to fill in, sign and date our client agreement. On signing the client agreement, 40% of the total on the invoice is due before any work is undertaken.
Once payment is received our creative team will design the look and feel of your website and email this to you for approval. We will also purchase your domain name, setup your hosting and place a website holding page on your website. This usually takes 2-3 days.
If you require any email accounts (POP3 or forwarder) we can set these up and up to 5 email addresses are included in the price of the web hosting.
We will require any text or image content you want to include in your website from you.
Once you have approved the overall design we will turn it into an interactive website. When this is complete you will be given access to your working website which you will be able to see online hidden behind your temporary holding page. At this stage some of the webpage's may be blank depending on how much text and image content we have received.
Your website will be completed in keeping with the style of the template and with text and any images provided by you added to the pages. Once all the content is formatted we will ask you to inspect the website and let us know of any amendments.
When any amendments are finished we will let you know that your website is completed and email your final invoice. Once payment has been received we will make your website live to the rest of the internet.
We always try to complete our clients' websites as soon as possible, but if you have opted for a large or more complicated website then development will take longer. If you can provide all text and image content for your website quickly then this will help speed up the process.
On average a 3-5 page brochure website will take 2-3 weeks whereas a more complicated website, like an ecommerce shopping cart (eshop) can take up to 1-2 months.
